 Wow, it's week 7, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

We had a great day on Thursday celebrating our school sports carnival, congratulations to all the girls and boys for your amazing efforts and superb sportsmanship.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

It's that time of year that we participate in the 'Operation Christmas Child' shoe box initiative that has been a wonderful OLC tradition for many years and reflects our school value of Compassion so well. These shoe boxes are sent to underprivileged children throughout the world as a gift for Christmas. 

The children will be placed into in groups of four and between them, they will fill a shoebox with a variety of items. The items do not need to be expensive. Each child in the group will be asked to cover the cost of sending the shoebox to its final destination. We ask them to bring in $2.50 each. The children will be given time in the classroom to pack the shoebox and explore some of the places that their shoe boxes may be travelling to. 

Your child will be coming home with a note that clearly states which item category they need to bring:
- Something to love
- Something to play with
- Something to draw with or write on
- Something for personal hygiene 
- Something to wear 

Items are to be no longer than 20cm long and not too bulky as they will not fit in the shoe box. 

PLEASE DO NOT SEND: Lollies; chocolate or food; fruit rolls or other fruit snacks; drink mixes (powdered or liquid); liquid paint; toothpaste; shampoo; aerosol cans; bubbles; crayons; plasticine/playdough; medicine; vitamins; used clothes; old toys; glass; porcelain; mirrors; war-related items; toy guns, knives; military figures; skull and crossbones; Halloween items; play money; playing cards; dominoes; tracts and Bibles (children are given an Operation Christmas Child evangelistic book at an outreach event).

If you have any queries or concerns can you please contact me A.S.A.P, as the children will need to have their items in by the End of week 9 (Friday 18th September). I will have a box at the front of the classroom for all donations to be put into.

Dear Parents, I hope you and your family have had an enjoyable, relaxing holiday even though it may have been very different from what you had originally planned. Term 3 Week 5

Dear Parents, I am just touching base to let you know what will be happening in the next few weeks. It's not to scare you but give you the opportunity to plan ahead. Week 5- Book Week this Friday dressed as a Book Character. Week 7- Year 3 combined Assembly (Friday 6th September). More details will follow but the dress requirements will be very simple. Week 7- Jumps (Wednesday 4th September) Week 8- Throws (Wednesday 11th September) Week 8 - School Photos either Thursday or Friday (12th or 13th September) Week 9- Athletics Carnival (Thursday 19th September) As these events get closer I will send out more details. Week 8 Term 4

Dear Parents, welcome to week 8!  Thank you to all the parents that volunteered and helped with our excursion. It was a fabulous day and we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.  Just a few reminders for this week. Wednesday 2nd  December : Dress rehearsal for the end of year concert. The children will wear their sports uniform to school as usual but will get changed at lunchtime into their clothes for the Christmas concert. Please refer back to the details given in the blog.
